Printed [By J. R. ] for W[Illiam]. B[Irch]. and Are To Be Sold By Tho. Sawbridge At the Three Flower-De-Luces in Little-Britain, and By William Birch At the Peacock At the Lower-End of Cheapside 3rd edition, corrected and somewhat enlarged as noted on main title page, with separate title pages for 3 discretely paged parts of the work identified as the second edition. Title page printed in red and black. Lacking the engraved frontis and the terminal printed leaf of the book, paged 303 - Rr1 . [24], 27, [1], 179, 200-504, [4]; [8], 116, [4], 104, [4]; [4], 302 pp. Printer or binder errors to front matter with signatures not sequential but catchwords appearing correct. There are three separate notices "To the Christian Reader" with unusual collation signatures. Title page followed by (c) 1, "To the Christian Reader", followed by Epistle Dedication to Philip Wharton (b) 1-2, followed by two separate notes "To the Christian Reader" [(c) 2]? , (d) 1-2. The whole work professionally rebound in a port wine colored goat skin; upper board paneled to match the original binding (the leather for which is laid in at rear). Title page has an old paper repair to the top corner with the tips of the red letter print of the final W in Marrow inked in red. Title page and several subsequent pages gathered using paper stubs bound in. A short shallow gouge to the front edge of pages 53 - 150, possibly the result of an ember burn; gouge is deepest in pages 80 -130 with some loss of the printed margin annotation but never intruding into the primary text. Includes numerous copperplate engraved portraits in text and a large copper engraved plate paneled in twelve with portraits of eminents. Original paste-down with ownership laid down on refreshed front paste-down. Front matter of first 10 or so leaves has some light nicking and chipping to edges. Final printed page Qq2 has paper repairs to edges. Lacking frontis portrait and the last printed page of the book. Otherwise complete and decent. In an attractive professional rebinding. Good thus
