In good condition. Original binding remains soft and rich in color. Plain in appearance without a known spine label. Minor scuffing to surface and edges. Corners are slightly crushed. Worming to fly leaves at bottom edges and corners. Old hand ownership on fly and title. Interior lightly toned with minor instances of foxing and age stain. Free of known marginalia except for a small patch of writing in old hand on the rear pastedown. Chipping to rear leaf. Binding tight and intact. A sound, nice copy. Please see photos. John Richardson (1667-1753) was an English Quaker minister who preached extensively in England, and then sent out to the America as an evangelist, arriving in Maryland in 1701 after a sixteen week crossing. He spent more than two years there, ceaselessly touring and disputing with Quakers and non-Quakers, on one such occasion accompanying William Penn to treat some Native Americans, who made a favorable impression on him.
