A VERY NICE FULL LEATHER COPY OF, LIVES OF BRITISH STATESMEN, AUTHORED BY JOHN MACDIARMID, PUBLISHED IN 1807 BY LONDON, PRINTED BY T. BENSLEY FOR LONGMAN, HURST, REES AND ORME. Clean brown leather boards with gilt decoration and lettering front cover and spine. The brown on the spine leather is darkened, and the titling and decoration rubbed but legible on the spine. There is heavy corner and top/bottom spine wear on the leather, corner bumped, beginning of board separation top and bottom where front and rear boards meet the spine. The boards are still solidly attached. Dark top stain, floral endpapers, no interior marks in xii, 577 pages, followed by a 3 Appendices entailing 29 pages, ending with 2 pages (one leaf) of publisher ads. The book measures about 11" by 9" and weighs 3 pounds 15 oz. The book has four plates, three of which shown in the listing photos, and includes essays on Thomas More, William Cecil, Thomas Wentworth and Edward Hyde. BB8

Beautifully packed and promptly shipped. Exactly as described and at a good price for someone who wants to play the stuff on his 1910 Columbia to people never heard or seen such exotica !! Very genuine seller, would recommend..,..Sadly one of the discs broke but I cannot fault the packaging and it was in the middle of a bundle, should have been ok chest la vie - will have to get the glue out and see what I can do..
