The memoirs provide details of the licentious court of Charles II of which Philibert, comte de Gramont was a part. Includes a biographical sketch of Count Hamilton and a translation of the epistle to Count Grammont. Complete in two volumes. CONDITION In a morocco binding with gilt detailing to boards. Externally, sound with marks to boards and rubbing to corners. Bumping to heads of spine with head of backstrip lifting on volume one and closed tear to head of spine on volume two. Internally, firmly bound with light foxing to first few pages and scattered spotting throughout.     I bought this for the copy's associations with a family I'm interested in, thanks to the suggestions about provenance in the seller's description. The description and photos told me all I needed to know about the book - clearly the right family, though I have my own view on the individual who owned it - but that is part of the fund of an old book. It arrived promptly - a couple of days' delay caused by UPS - safely packaged and a good price, I think.
