Fully titled and subtitled, The Life Of Mr. John Bunyan Author of The Pilgrim s Progress. In Which Exemplified The Power of Evangelical Principles. Authored by Joseph Ivimey, first published in 1809 (see date on Editor note in listing photos), this is a 1814 Reprint published by E.E. Finch of Boston. See listing photos on Table of Contents to get a sense of what is covered in this book - it is very heavy on religious themes in early chapters with what seems to be more focus on his imprisonment and writings in later chapters. FULL LEATHER, in GOOD OR BETTER CONDITION. The boards have been refurbished and the attachment of the boards to the spine reinforced. The boards are now supple and bright. Clear red block spine title with gilt titling and lines. A previous owner inked name on first free endpaper (looks to be antique, but no date). A pencil marking also on front endpaper, and someone copied the name of John Bunyan on frontispiece beneath the printed name. There are two original blank endpapers in the front and one in the back. The first few leaves of the books were reinforced into the binding. 307 clean and solidly bound pages, light foxing throughout. In addition to the frontispiece, there was another plate showing an image of John Bunyan handwriting (not shown in listing photos).
