Some cracking to front hinge. Frontispiece torn and subsequently glued to adjacent end page. Remainder of text block bound well with minimal wear. A scarce Hartford imprint on the life of Congregationalist preacher Thomas Spencer (1791-1811). Publicly preaching to larger crowds since the age of 16, he was offered the pastorate of the Newington Chapel in Liverpool.
