William Wraxall, Carey, Lea, and Blanchard, Philadelphia, 1837, 494 pp, half leather, 9.5 x 6”, 8vo. In good condition. Later binding. Moderate scuffing to extremities with instances of drying to joints and tips. Spine lightly abraded with light crushing to head and tail. Small tear at head of spine. Joints tender with inner hinge beginning. Bookplate of Robert C.H. Brock on marbled pastedown. “Fresh” end papers. Interior lightly toned with scattered foxing. Faint instance of dampness staining at proper right top corner of textblock. Binding remains intact. Free of known markings. Please see photos. Sir Nathaniel William Wraxall, 1st Baronet (1751-1831) was an English author and politician. He visited Portugal and was presented to the court, of which he gives a curious account in his Historical Memoirs .
