Light scuffing to extremities with minor rubbing to corners and end bands. Joints lightly scuffed/creased. Grained leather remains soft and rich in color. All edges marbled. Marbled end papers free of ownership or plates. Frances Rame 1844 manuscript ownership on tip-in. Interior lightly toned with minimal foxing. Free of known markings. Binding tight and intact. A sound, beautiful copy! Please see photos. Thomas Arnold (13 June 1795 – 12 June 1842) was an English educator and historian. He was an early supporter of the Broad Church Anglican movement. As headmaster of Rugby School from 1828 to 1841, he introduced several reforms that were widely copied by other noted public schools . His reforms redefined standards of masculinity and achievement.     The shipping was fast and the book was extremely well packaged. The book itself is exactly as pictured and although rare books are expected to be expensive, I was able to get a small discount that at least covered the shipping. I'm happy with my purchase, so I can say that it was a good value. I love to find old relics that kind of come full circle to find their home. Welcome home to this little gem in the form of a small book. I will take very good care of you! I highly recommend this seller.

    Just picked up my package from Robin Rare Books and let me start by saying WOW!!! Book as advertised for sure. the value of the book certainly dictated some care in shipping but never did I think to this extent. The packaging was incredible. bigger box than needed at first thought but after opening based on the care and multiple layers of packing It would have survived a Tank rolling over it. Very grateful for you listing and working with me on the book, true piece of history I will cherish
