The bindings show light rubbing and wear. Some wrinkling to the top corner of the front flyleaf of Volume I. There is a little foxing to the front and rear of each volume, but overall a sound clean set. Attractive shelf appearance. Illustrated with 15 full-page steel plate engravings (portraits). Volume I has 9 engraved portraits for 10 subjects (no portrait for Simson on page 467). Volume II has 6 portraits for 6 subjects. Excellent old history in perfect condition, like new. Book clean and crisp with absolutely no damage as described. Publication date 1930. Very quickly shipped. Very securely wrapped against weather and handling damage. A bit dear but you certainly get what you pay for.
