The Life of the Venerable Hugh Bourne. By William Antliff and printed in London by George Lamb. 1872, 446 pp, 7” x 5”, 8vo, hardcover full leather. In good condition, with minor rubbing and wear to boards and spine, primarily along edges and corners. Hinges remain in good condition. Text block remains bound well, with most wear concentrated among light staining towards the bottoms of some pages, along with more prevalent staining to the frontispiece and tissue guard. Inscribed at front of book. Light markings and marginalia. Includes small catalogue of other Primitive Methodist works for sale. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce and beautifully bound piece on Hough Bourne (1772-1852), the co-founder of the Primitive Methodist movement.
