Complete in two volumes. Bound in signed full calf by Zaehnsdorf, with gilt dentelles. Includes his notorious plays such as 'The Rivals', 'The Duenna' and 'The School for Scandal', with a memoir to the beginning of Volume I by James P. Browne. Browne uses extracts from Thomas Moore's biographical work on the playwright, 'Memoirs of the Life of Richard Brinsley Sheridan' originally published in 1825. With a monochrome frontispiece to Volume I. CONDITION In full signed calf binding by Zaehnsdorf. Externally, smart. With sunning to the spines and part of Vol. II front board. Slight rubbing to the extremities, heaviest to the spines. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. This now sits alongside a companion volume, another work of Worcestershire historian and antiquarian, John Noak. I very much looking forward to reading it.
