Complete in two volumes. The memoir and reminiscences of Captain Rees Howell Gronow, a Welsh Grenadier Guards officer and dandy. Gronow's memoirs recollect various anecdotes of the camp, court, clubs, and society, from 1810 to 1860. Volume I is illustrated with a hand-coloured frontispiece, and fifteen hand-coloured plates. Collated, complete. Volume II is illustrated with a hand-coloured frontispiece, and sixteen hand-coloured plates. Collated, complete. Bookplate of L. R. Rawlings to the recto of the front free endpapers. CONDITION In a half crushed morocco binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, smart. Light rubbing to the joints and extremities. Cracks to the head and tail of the front joint of Volume II. Spots to the fore edges. Bookplate to the recto of the front free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
