Antique French Set 6 L'Année Litteraire The Literary Year Leather Bound Books Date 1776 Printed 13 years before the French Revolution, 246 years old. " L'Année Litteraire" (The Literary Year. Printed in 1776 (the year of American Independence) and written by M Abbot Grosier & M Freron, in PARIS. There are 6 volumes or "Tomes" which include Tome 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 8 - it appears No 4 and 6 are missing from a set of 8. 360 pages to each book printed in French including a couple of pages of "Tables" to the back of each one. Each one has a blue silk ribbon page keeper. Condition report: Leather binding is worn although the gold gilding is in remarkable condition, and each book appears to have had some type of library label that was once stuck on to the front. Every page has yellowed over the passage of time with some foxing - see all photographs. No missing pages or rips or tearing.
