Ask Me Again Tomorrow / Olympia Dukakis / Easton Press / Signed 1st Ed. / #679. FREE SHIPPING. shipped via USPS Media Mail. Very Good Condition. Never read. Rarely removed from shelf. Minor issue with the Gilded pages on the bottom of the book (See Photos). Olympia Dukakis became famous for her performance in the movie Moonstruck, for which she won an Academy Award in 1988 (the same year her cousin Michael Dukakis, the Governor of Massachusetts, lost his bid for the Presidency). But she was already then what she remains today: a preeminent woman of the American theatre. In her forty-plus year career, Dukakis has performed in over 125 theatre productions, directed and produced extensively, helped found and run two important theatre companies, and taught at Yale and New York Universities - while also being a wife, mother (and grandmother), and an energetic activist and popular lecturer. Revered as an actor who brings extraordinary distinction to any role, Dukakis' film and television work includes Steel Magnolias, Mighty Aphrodite, Mr. Holland's Opus, and the acclaimed series, Tales of the City and More Tales of the City. Her many honors include the Obie (twice), the Ace, the Golden Globe, and the Walt Whitman Creative Arts Award. Olympia Dukakis' new book, Ask Me Again Tomorrow, is a witty, frank, and intensely personal memoir. She reflects on early struggles with depression, alcohol, drugs and her Greek immigrant parents' violent prejudices about the proper role of women, the joys and challenges of being wife, mother, and career woman, and on to suddenly becoming a "star" at 57. This candid memoir offers a sometimes hilarious, sometimes heart-breaking, but always inspiring account of an extraordinary life in and beyond show business.
