Backed in what appears to be marbled alum tawed leather with corners in sheep; board edges are covered with linen and then covered with marbled paper—an interesting binding demonstrating some resourcefulness. Binding is rubbed and the title label is missing, but the binding remains solid and visually has a certain appeal; endpapers are stained and toned; contents with light foxing, only. A reasonably nice copy of the First American edition of this memoir by the popular German writer. Absolutely delighted with this!
