Measuring about 4-1/4" x 7", and 244 pages long, this pocket-sized leather bound book is "Recollections of the Life of the Late Right Honorable Charles James Fox; Exhibiting a faithful account of the Most Remarkable Events of his Political Career, and a Delineation of his Character as a Statesman, Senator & Man of Fashion. Comprehending Numerous Anecdotes of his Public and Private Life, and an Accurate Description of the Ceremonies which took place at his Funeral in Westminster Abbey on the 10th October, 1806" by B. C. Walpole, Esq. To which is added "The Character of Mr. Fox" by R. B. Sheridan. Published in New York by E. Sargeant, it has a publication date of 1807, with no edition or printing stated. The exterior leather cover is in pretty decent shape for its age, but with some scuffs and scrapes and edge wear. The binding is also still nice and tight, but both end papers are missing, along with any fly leaves or frontispiece that might originally have been bound in. It is also an ex-library copy, with Middlebury College Library and Philomathesian Library stickers on the inside front cover, plus inscriptions and stampings on the title page, title page verso, first page of Preface, a few random inside pages, the last page of text and inside back cover.
