THE LIFE AND ADVENTURES OF ROBINSON CRUSOE, WHO LIVED TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS IN AN UNINHABITED ISLAND. WITH AN ACCOUNT OF HIS DELIVERANCE Author: Defoe, Daniel Title: THE LIFE AND ADVENTURES OF ROBINSON CRUSOE, WHO LIVED TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS IN AN UNINHABITED ISLAND. WITH AN ACCOUNT OF HIS DELIVERANCE Publication: Philadelphia, PA: Grigg, Elliot, and Co., 1849 Description: Leather-bound. 24mo. 6 in. x 4 in. Quarterbound calf, paper over boards. Worn leather spine. Front board detached but present. Boards and near rubbed-away- spine have 175 years worth of scuffing and wear, but miraculously, binding still holding, texblock still holding and complete. Old pencil writing ("Mary E. Winslow") and some scribbles to preliminary pages. Occasional light foxing (brown spots caused by oxidization) to interior, but overall, bright and clear. (Optionally, front board can be reattached and new leather spine label affixed, after completion of this transaction.) A lovely old, pocket-sized treasure to poke into the pocket of your favorite departing voyager/survivor type, or in her stocking if she's wanting to wait until Spring to depart. To this eye, author's name does not appear anywhere on this version of the book? (Did Defoe know?). Poor (or "Fair-Minus", if you can imagine such a hybrid!).
