Description

Easton Press leather edition of Margaret Leech's "In the Days of McKinley," a COLLECTOR'S edition, one of the LIBRARY OF THE PRESIDENTS series, published in 1986. Bound in deep hunter green leather, the book has decorative paper end leaves, acid-free paper, Symth-sewn binding, a satin book marker, gold gilding on top edge only---in FINE condition. William McKinley, who lived from 1842---1901, was born in Niles, Ohio, the seventh son of nine children. He attended Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. He fought with the Union Army and was on the bloody field at Antietam in Maryland. McKinley was described as a "handsome, bright, gallant boy" and at twenty-two had matured into vigorous manhood. McKinley left the army with an abiding hatred of war. He married IDA SAXTON to whom he was madly, devotedly in love. McKinley, a lawyer, became governor of Ohio at age forty-nine, and was elected to Congress, 1876-82, 1884-1890. McKinley was elected President and presided during the Spanish-American War. His presidency also saw the annexation of Hawaii and certain Samona Islands, intervention in China, and agitation for a Panama Canal. He was assassinated by anarchist, Leon Czolgosz in Buffalo, New York, at the Pan-American Exposition. Vice President THEODORE ROOSEVELT assumed the Presidency in 1901. 686 Pages. Seller earns high marks for very safe wrapping, quick delivery and right price. Book is in excellent condition. To no fault of seller, and unusual deviation of normal high standards of the publisher, I would not recommend this book to others. It has has very disappointing photography that distracts from art of Rodin. But I highly recommend the seller.

Quite the surprised, at first I thought I ordered something from a pet shop because of the box turns out to be my order xD. My books were well packaged no noticeable box damage internally and externally. They were as described in the listing and shipped promptly in a 2 weeks window. Would recommend seller.
