These speakers are very clean and have always been in a non-smoking environment and these babies sound absolutely superb. They are cosmetically outstanding - There are a few very light scratches on the unit, but you have to look hard to even see them. The speaker’s fronts are clean, crisp, and sharp; the speaker’s surround is in perfect condition; the front grills (cloth) are in great condition . For their price point, they are solid performers: Tight and satisfying bass, convincing middles, and crisp highs. The enclosure is just large enough to let the woofer produce all the low frequencies, and the insulation is the perfect amount and type for the woofer. The decorative grille is acoustically transparent, removable, and fairly see-through to allow all the sounds to escape instead of blocking or causing loss of sound. The frequency response extends all the way to 20,000 Hz, 60 max watts peak and 30 watts max [RMS] power handling which is more than enough for any small to mid-size room.
