For sale, Unwritten History: Life Amongst The Modocs, written by Joaquin Miller, published by American Publishing, dated 1874, a first American edition. This is an autobiographical account of Joaquin Miller's account of his time among the gold mining camps and Modoc Indian villages of Northern California. This is a hardcover book with black leather covers with gold gilt writing and design on the front cover, 445 pages, illustrated through out. Condition of the book is fair, ex-library twice over. Originally belonged to the Henry Brune private library, then to a Marin county public library. Covers show moderate plus to heavy wear to the covers, moderate plus edge/corner bumping. Some library markings at the bottom of the spine cover, inside of front cover, title page. Front hinge is cracked and has been re-enforced with white hinge tape at the title page. Rear hinge is a little sloppy but still connected. Binding is tight. There is some yellowed scotch tape residue on the first blank page as well as the last blank page at the rear. A few of the pages have very small edge tears. Buyer pays $6.85 USPS media mail domestic shipping. International shipping available through the ebay international shipping program.
