Description
THIS VOLUME ENDS ON P 480 AND I UNDERSTAND IT SHOULD END ON P 516 SO IT IS MISSING 36 PAGES AT THE VERY END. Some used book dealers list a 1831 complete volume for $1000+. This volume is dated 1846 with a copyright date 1846. NOTE: VERY INTERESTING FOR MORMON HISTORY - Marks visited the Mormon center one year after the publication of the Book of Mormon and is the first to offer a critical revieww= "In 1827 David Marks (a non-Mormon minister) went to Palmyra and Manchester, New York where he "made considerable inquiry respecting . . . [Joseph] Smith" and learned from "several persons in different places" that Joseph was "about 21 years [old]; that previous to his declaration of having found the plates he made no pretensions to religion." Marks book is the first to mention Mormonism as a religion. Marks not only mentions Mormonism, but went to Palmyra, New York to investigate the tablets and to speak to the witnesses about the Religion and the Tablets. It offers a very unique perspective of religion in the eastern United States during his life time. He is buried in Oberlin, Ohio.

The item arrived in great condition, and it shipped fast. I will add, however, that the seller never responded to communication, even asking if the item had shipped. It was just marked as shipped with no tracking number, and no response was received back.

Item arrived on time. Seller didn't mark the order as shipped until it was out for delivery and didn't provide a tracking number. The book has yellow highlighting on several pages that was not mentioned in the description. Otherwise, it's good.

If been looking for this book for quite some time now. Seller had a fair price, packaged the book very well, shipped quickly, and I find it exactly as described. Thank you for helping me get what I wanted.
