Published by Richard Bentley, London, 1836. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS THE EXTRA ILLUSTRATED EDITION WHICH CONTAINED 171 EXTRA PLATES and a listing of all of the extra plates is bound into the beginning of the first volume. First Edition. Complete in 4 volumes that were bound in fine, fll leather bindings by Morrell, London--spine lettering indicates that this is an extra illustrated edition and Napoleonic symbols appears on spine and covers. Unfortunately, the bindings are worn--covers have separated from the books on two of the volumes, there is wear/leather loss to spines and gutter wear/gutter cracking is present. The interior text blocks are clean, tight and complete. Personal bookplates are adhered to front endpapers. Interiors are very clean, tight. I will call the books Fair to Good. They measure 5 7/8 X 8 3/4. THESE WERE PREMIUM UPGRADED EDITIONS IN PREMIUM BINDINGS--THIS SET SHOULD BE PROFESSIONALLY RESTORED. A SCARCE FEW copies of this set can be found on other internet booksits for upwards of $400, while the extra illustrated sets are selling for $3000-$4500!!!!!! I will offer this PREMIUM, EXTRA ILLUSTRATED SET IN NEED OF RESTORATION for only $875.00 plus $11.00 S&H in the US.
