Description

- FIRST EDITION / FIRST PRINTING - Life on the Mississippi By MARK TWAIN [First Edition / First American Edition] (probably issued a few days earlier in London) first state, with the 'St. Louis Hotel' caption and the illustration of Mark Twain 'in flames,' which was dropped in subsequent printings due to Mrs. Clemens' objections to its morbidity. I received a stunningly beautiful, hand hammered, metal bas relief wall hanging of mother and child, made in Spain, in immaculate condition. The shopkeeper was kind enough to accept my offer below asking price. This generosity of heart touches my spirit. The fragile piece was boxed and carefully wrapped and packaged with protective materials, but without wasted papers. The shipping was speedy. This was an all-around wonderful online shopping experience
