Product Information: - Title of Product: The Diary of a Young Girl: The Definitive Edition by Anne Frank [Royal Edition] Author: Anne Frank Number of Pages: 340 Publication Year: 1995 Language: English Book Synopsis: - ?A truly remarkable book.? ?The New York Times With Anne Frank?s fateful escape to Amsterdam with her family and fellow Jews, began her journey of writing. Her diary brings to light trials and tribulations of a 13-year-old girl who saw the horrors of racism and Holocaust at a very tender age. She stood trapped between World War II and her own battles, the ones she fought with using her mind and with a pinch of humour. The story of the Frankfurt family by far remains one of the most insightful accounts of World War II. The original version of the diary was published by Otto Frank, Anne?s father, in Dutch in 1947. Author Overview: - Anne Frank was born in the German city of Frankfurt am Main in 1929. She is one of the most discussed Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Her diary, The Diary of a Young Girl, which documents her life in hiding during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II, is one of the world?s most widely known books and has been the basis for several plays and films. Anne Frank and her family, fleeing the horrors of Nazi occupation, hid in the back of an Amsterdam warehouse for two years. She was 13 when she went into the Secret Annex with her family and that is when she wrote this diary. Annelies Marie Frank (German pronunciation: [?an?li?s ma??i? ??an? ?f?a?k]; Dutch pronunciation: [??n??lis ma??ri ???n? ?fr??k]; 12 June 1929 - February 1945) was a German-born diarist and writer. She is one of the most discussed Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Her diary, The Diary of a Young Girl, which documents her life in hiding during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II, is one of the world's most widely known books and has been the basis for several plays and films.Born in the city of Frankfurt, Germany, she lived most of her life in or near Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Born a German national, Frank lost her citizenship in 1941 and thus became stateless. The Frank family moved from Germany to Amsterdam in the early 1930s when the Nazis gained control over Germany. By May 1940, they were trapped in Amsterdam by the German occupation of the Netherlands. As persecutions of the Jewish population increased in July 1942, the family went into hiding in some concealed rooms behind a bookcase in the building where Anne's father worked. In August 1944, the group was betrayed and transported to concentration camps. Anne and her sister, Margot, were eventually transferred to Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, where they died (probably of typhus) in February or March 1945, just weeks before the camp was liberated in April.Otto Frank, the only survivor of the family, returned to Amsterdam after the war to find that Anne's diary had been saved by one of the helpers, Miep Gies, and his efforts led to its publication in 1947. It was translated from its original Dutch version and first published in English in 1952 as The Diary of a Young Girl, and has since been translated into over 60 languages. The diary, which was given to Anne on her thirteenth birthday, chronicles her life from 12 June 1942 until 1 August 1944.Bio and photo from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Absolutely PERFECT transaction! I ordered this book mid April, and when I hadn't seen any activity for a few days I decided to contact the seller (normally items paid are usually shipped within 2-3 days and this was going a week, so it raised a red flag). Due to my own ignorance, I was reassured immediately that the book's cover was being hand crafted and would take time, explaining the extra time. Long story short, this was worth the wait!Very responsive seller, HIGHLY recommended. THANK YOU!

Everything is fine, but the seller told me I could have an engraving placed on the cover. I sent them a picture of the engraving, and they acknowledged they got it, but when I got the item they never did it. In addition they claim they never got my picture which is not true, seeing I have their email response. I was disappointed by this, but I would have gotten this book even without the engraving, so all is well.
