This is a fine three- volume set of the Memoirs of Napoleon Bonaparte , from the French of M. Fauvelet De Bourrienne, by John S. Memes, LLD. These also include "A Word Painting of the Battle of Waterloo", by Sir Edward Creasy, together with "A Vivid Description of Napoleon's Parting With Josephine", by Madame De Remusat, and "The Diary of Rear-Admiral Sir George Cockburn During Napoleon's Passage to St. Helena", and a Copy of Napoleon's Will. The set includes sixteen engraved illustrations. The Frontispieces are: Vol. I: " Napoleon", Vol. II: "Josephine, Empress of France", Vol. III: "The Last Earthly Moments of Napoleon". The printed title on the front covers and spines show "Life of Napoleon the Great". The gold print on the fronts and spines are faded as expected in books of this age, but the books are tight and sound. They are string-tied and embossed on front and back. Inside each cover is the owner's stamp "Private Library of L.H. Charbonnier" The translator's preface to the First Edition is dated July, 1830. Vol. I is 472 pp., Vol. II - 429 pp., and Vol. III - 448 pp. This set is a great primary source for historians and lovers of this important time in the history of western civilization. Good seller, items as described and arrived on time. Only thing I’d suggest is add a little more packaging for protection. It was wrapped in bubble wrap, but there was a 2-3 in gap on all sides between the item and the walls of the box
